British Standard Taper Pipe Thread (Brit•ish stand•ard Pipe Thread)

thread form used in Britain. Includes external threads which can be assembled to either straight or tapered internal threads. Straight external threads cannot be used for a leakproof or joint threads. In this thread form, the sides of the thread form an angle of 55° with each other and the depth of the thread is equal to 0.640327 x the pitch of the thread. The taper is the same as American Standard Taper, 3/4” per foot.
